Galle Dutch Fort
The Galle Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a historical jewel in Sri Lanka. Its origins trace back to the Portuguese in the 16th century, with significant enhancements by the Dutch in the 17th century, and later, British influences. This well-preserved fortification is not just a relic of colonial times but a vibrant cultural hub, featuring charming cafes, boutique shops, and stunning sunset views from its ramparts. Key attractions include the iconic lighthouse, the historic clock tower, and the bastions that offer panoramic views of the Indian Ocean.

Jungle Beach Unawatuna
Jungle Beach in Unawatuna is divided into two sections, separated by large boulders. The beach near the Japanese Peace Pagoda is quieter and less touristy, offering a serene sandy beach surrounded by jungle, with a single shack selling drinks but no sunloungers. The other section, accessible via the car park, is more tourist-oriented with sunloungers for rent and multiple vendors. Despite the differences, both parts boast beautiful scenery and a relaxed atmosphere.

- When to visit: Year-round experience. However, mornings and evenings are better with the heat being lower during these times.
- Notes: Swimming is depending on your choice but lifeguards are not available.
Handunugoda Tea Estate
Handunugoda Estate is the only tea estate situated in the coastal belt of Sri Lanka specializing in the artisanal manufacturing of ‘virgin white tea’ and is one of the handful of estates in Sri Lanka exporting high-quality luxury teas to global markets. Herman teas are highly specialized Teas aiming to tickle the taste buds of the consumers, providing a memorable experience while maintaining its unique flavour, can be brewed several times. The plantation gives a clear vision of how to cope with the changing climate and intense heat that increases soil temperatures resulting in the death of young tea plants. The tea, cinnamon and vanilla, pepper plantations are grown in a totally eco-friendly environment. It is a classic example of biodiversity and assumes a complexion of a botanical garden. A visit is a must to agriculturists and plantation Owners and Managers.

Visiting Galle is a no-brainer. You can visit Galle any time of the year. Being a tropical island, there could be showers or a dry-climate but that's expected in many parts of the country without much seasons.
Climate/Weather:
Galle experiences a tropical rainforest climate with warm temperatures throughout the year. The most favorable travel time is from January to March, featuring lower rainfall and consistent temperatures. May sees the most rainfall, while January is driest. Temperatures peak in March and April, with the highest average temperatures around 30.3°C. Relative humidity varies, with the least humid months being February and March
