Beruwala

In the outskirts on bentota and only a short drive lies Beruwala - another fantastic beach destination in the west coast of Sri Lanka. Home to some of the finest resorts and long strips of sandy beaches, Beruwala is a famous beach spot in Sri Lanka.

Madu River Boat Ride

One of the most famous activities for anyone visiting the area is the Madu River Boat ride, or, as some call it, the Boat safari. As the boat glides through the mangroves and the many inhabited islands, you will also enjoy the sudden spotting of birds, and some amazing scenaries. the Fish Spa therapy, where you get to soak your legs into a net full of fish and get the feet cleaned is very famous during this Madu River Boat ride. Also, the visit to the Cinnamon Island, where a local family will grow small amounts of Cinnamon, Dry and Peel them, make Cinnamon-based products is also included during this visit. Some could visit the Temple in one of the ends but this is optional.

Turtle Conservation/Hatchery

The Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery in Sri Lanka plays a pivotal role in the conservation of sea turtles, focusing on the protection, rehabilitation, and research of these magnificent creatures. Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery is home to five key species of sea turtles, each contributing uniquely to marine ecosystems. These include the Green Turtle, known for maintaining healthy seagrass beds; the Loggerhead Turtle, which helps control the population of crustaceans; the Hawksbill Turtle, aiding in coral reef health; the Olive Ridley Turtle, notable for its mass nesting behavior; and the Leatherback Turtle, which plays a role in controlling jellyfish populations​​.

Beruwala experiences warm temperatures year-round, with daytime highs ranging from 28.6°C to 31.3°C. The warmest months are March and April, reaching up to 31.3°C. Nights are cooler, with temperatures dropping to 23.4°C to 26.3°C, the coolest being in January. The region experiences high humidity, peaking at 83% between May and August, contributing to a tropical feel. Rainfall varies, with the wettest period from May to September, receiving up to 350mm of precipitation in June, the rainiest month
