Gal Oya

Another off-the-beaten-path destination in Sri Lanka with less visits but many amazing sights is Gal Oya. Visiting Gal Oya is a good selection as it will include the Boat Safari in a national park and you get to see Elephants Swimming on the Lake.

When to visit:

Visiting Gal Oya is a year-round experience. Sri Lanka being a tropical country, some months might have rain but this is not affecting the experiences you will go through such as the safaris or the visits to the nearby villages to meet and greet the locals.

Gal Oya National Park in Sri Lanka features a tropical climate with an average annual temperature of 27.2°C. It receives an average annual rainfall of up to 1,700 mm, primarily during the northeastern monsoon. The park experiences average maximum wind speeds around 30 kmph​
