The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, or Sri Dalada Maligawa, is a cornerstone of Buddhist faith in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It houses Buddha's left canine tooth, making it a paramount pilgrimage site globally. Legend narrates its journey from Buddha's cremation site to Sri Lanka, symbolizing the divine right to rule the land. The tooth's residence, shifted across the island near rulers' homes, found its permanent abode in Kandy by the 16th century. The current temple, surviving Portuguese devastations and rebuilt during King Kirthi Sri Rajasinghe's reign, encapsulates devoutness with daily rituals, annual festivals, and a museum within its complex. Despite past bombings, the temple's resilience and restoration highlight its spiritual significance and architectural magnificence
